Additional Adoption Information

Order Date - the sooner we receive your order the better the chance the campus store can obtain all the necessary course materials before the start of the semester. With notice the campus store can source used copies or physical copies of course material. If an adoption arrives in the campus store too close to a given term an ebook will be the default option listed on the course.

Note – there have been extreme shipping delays and textbook shortages, obtaining hard copy textbooks often takes 6-8 weeks, especially to acquire used books. Alternate format materials if needed can take longer. If you are not using a textbook, please let us know, this helps us to let students know which courses are not using materials.

Wait List - if you anticipate a wait list and plan to let in additional students, please let us know so additional course materials can be ordered.

Adoption Changes - if any information about your adoption changes (title cancellation, course cancellation, sections added, instructor change, etc.) after it has been submitted, please contact the campus store as soon as possible. Any changes to orders after shipping may result in additional costs, such as freight and return charges.

Edition Changes/Out of Stock - we will notify you on any changes and/or stock issues.

Desk Copy
- to obtain a desk copy, contact the publisher directly. If needed the campus store would be happy to assist with this.

Print Shop Manuals - if you use a print shop manual and have requested it for the course again, the campus store will not automatically re-order. To ensure the manual is produced contact the print shop. If you plan on placing your manual on Moodle please let the campus store know as this may affect the print quantity ordered.

TRU has partnered with VitalSource, to help collect course material adoptions. VitalSource is a third party application. The VitalSource Verba Collect textbook adoption management tool will store your name, TRU email address, TRU course information (which includes the course number, course section, enrolment cap and instructor name) and course materials information (a list of current and historical materials used in each course). Use of Verba Collect is optional and instructors who do not wish to use this service may email the campus store directly to manage adoption of course materials: bookbuyer@tru.ca. If you choose not to use Verba Collect, only basic information (complete course list for the semester including instructor names and emails) will be shared with, and stored by, Verba Collect.
